Repair

As a manufacturer we offer a repair and parts service for most types of blinds. From venetian re-stringing to replacement vertical weights & chains, we are happy to help. You can bring your blind to our factory or you can arrange a no obligation home visit to see if we can fix the problem. Please be advised we may not be able to repair an existing blind due to availability of spare parts. For older blinds it might be more cost effective to replace rather than repair and we can provide a quote for both so you can decide.

For information on how to remove/refit your blinds please see below.

HOW TO REMOVE A PERFECT FIT BLIND

Raise the blind so that it’s fully up.  On the inside of the perfect fit frame (on both sides) you will see a number of slots punched into it with a steel nub protruding through from the bracket.

Working from the bottom up and alternate sides push the nub in with a flat bladed screwdriver while pulling the frame towards you. Do this for each bracket and the frame will be released with the blind attached.

If brackets need to be removed. Mark position of bracket for refitting. Slide each bracket toward centre of window.

To re-fit simply locate the perfect fit frame in front of the brackets and push it back into position until it clicks into place.  When refitting ensure the cord does not snag between frame and bracket. This will cause the blind to malfunction until released.

HOW TO REMOVE AN ALUMINIUM VENETIAN

Raise the blind so that it’s fully up. At the top of the blind is the headrail and you will see silver bracket tabs at the top of this. With a pair of thin nose pliers, pull the tabs towards you. This will release the back of the headrail. Move the back of the headrail downwards and pull the blind toward you. The blind will now be released.

To re-fit, reverse the process.

There is another type of aluminium venetian blind bracket which has a different method of removal.

If the blind does not have a small silver bracket tab it is likely to be a push fit type. In this case, lift the blind to its fully raised position. Grasp the back of the headrail of the blind then pull the headrail toward you. This will release the blind.

To re-fit, lift the blind into the brackets and push the blind forward until the brackets engage in the headrail.

HOW TO TAKE A WOODEN VENETIAN BLIND DOWN

Raise the blind so that it is fully up and remove the wooden pelmet that sits right at the top. The pelmet is held in place with industrial velcro pads. Separate each pad by pushing flat head screwdriver between pads. This will reveal brackets at each end of the blind. The front of the brackets have gates which open upwards. Lift the gates upwards on both sides and then pull the blind towards you, the blind will then slide out of the front of the brackets.

To re-fit, reverse the process - taking care to make sure the gates at the front of the bracket close with a click once you have placed the blind back into them.

HOW TO TAKE DOWN A FAUX WOOD VENETIAN BLIND

Raise the blind so that it’s fully up. Remove the pelmet that sits right at the top by pushing a flat bladed screwdriver under the clear plastic pelmet brackets and pulling the pelmet towards you. This will reveal brackets at each end of the blind. The front of the brackets have gates which open upwards. Lift the gates upwards on both sides and then pull the blind towards you, the blind will then slide out of the front of the brackets.

To re-fit, reverse the process - taking care to make sure the gates at the front of the bracket close with a click.

HOW TO REMOVE A STANDARD ROLLER BLIND

Raise the blind so that it is fully up. Go to the chain end and hold the blind lifting it upwards about 5mm then push the entire blind in towards the centre. This will release the blind from the bracket and you can then manoeuvre the blind out.

To re-fit, reverse the process taking care to line up the pins at the chain end of the blind with the bracket that you are locating it into. Make sure that the centre pin is facing downwards and drops into the slot.

HOW TO REMOVE A CASSETTE ROLLER BLIND

Raise the blind so that it is fully up. Locate the spring clip brackets behind the cassette. Press these upwards with a flat bladed screwdriver. This will then release the cassette from the bracket.

To re-fit the blind, reverse the process by locating the cassette in the front (room side) of the bracket first then pushing the rear (window side) of the cassette upwards until you hear a click. Repeat for all brackets.

HOW TO REMOVE A ROMAN BLIND (1)

Raise the blind so that it is fully up. Locate the white bracket tab at top of the blind face (it may by hidden by the top of the fabric which can be pulled back as it is attached with velcro) and with a pair of thin nose pliers pull the tab toward you. This will release the back of the headrail from the bracket. Move the back of the headrail down and pull the blind towards you. The blind will now be released.

To re-fit, reverse the process by pushing the back of the headrail up into the position that it came out of and then pushing the bracket tabs back into place.

Please be aware that there is another type of roman blind bracket which has a different method of removal.

HOW TO REMOVE A ROMAN BLIND (2)

To re-fit, push the blind forward into the brackets and lift the back of the headrail up until the brackets engage in the headrail.

HOW TO REMOVE A VERTICAL BLIND

Tilt the louvres into an open position (so you can see through the louvres) then unclip the louvres from the pegs at the top which hold them by holding the top of the louvre and tilting the top horizontal then pulling out of the pegs. Store the louvres flat to avoid creasing them. You will now be left with just the headrail. To remove this, locate the brackets at the back of the headrail. Press up on the tab at the back and the headrail it will be released from the bracket. Repeat for all brackets until the headrail is free.

To re-fit the blind, locate the front of the headrail (room side) into the front of the bracket, then push up the rear fo the headrail until you hear a click repeating for each bracket.

If the vertical blind is fitted in a conservatory or other face fixed application, there are likely to be screws in the front of the bracket which hold the headrail in place. Simply unscrew these to release the headrail.

Please note, collection of blinds for repair are subject to a call out charge.
