Made to Measure Blinds : Measuring Your Windows

NOTE: when you measure for rollers and verticals that you only need to put the recess measurements down.

Outside or inside recess the measurement you have will be the sizes you enter into the width and drop boxes within the ordering field. Please note the manufacturing tolerances for the width of the blind is within plus or minus 2mm (0.2cms) of your required size. The drop will be generally within 1.5cms longer than you require as the pitch between each slat is a fixed standard distance and this does not necessarily equate to the drop measurement. This can be adjusted on the lift cord when in place.

Firstly the size you measure is the size your made to measure blind will be. So please be careful when measuring, it is always good practice to measure twice. 

So if you are measuring your window for outside or recess the end result and the measurements you have will be the figures you enter within the drop and width fields within our shop.

Measuring Instructions

For an accurate measurement please use a metal tape measure and take measurements in centimetres to the nearest 0.1cm.

All our blinds can be fixed into the face of the window frame or wall, or into the top lintel - allowing total control of the depth your blind can be positioned in the depth of your window recess.

Choose whether you want the blinds to hang inside or outside the window recess.

Please check for proximity of adjacent walls, furniture, window handles etc. when measuring for your blinds. 

Inside recess fitting

For blinds to hang inside the window recess:

Measure the width of the inside of the recess (wall to wall) in three places and Subtract one centimetre (1cm ) from the smallest measurement to allow clearance down each side. This gives the blind width 

Measure the drop by taking the measurement from the top of the recess to the sill in three places Take the smallest measurement. This gives the blind drop

Outside recess fitting

For blinds to hang outside the window recess:

Measure the overall width that you want to cover with the blind This gives the blind width. 

Measure the overall drop to include overlaps at top and bottom of the window. Check for any obstruction which might foul the blind in this area This gives the blind drop 

Enter width and drop in the boxes provided within the online shop. This is the exact size of the blind you will receive.

Measure the exact area you would like the blinds to cover as shown.
